Election offers opportunity to get better on HIV in the UK

NAT is concerned that HIV in the UK has gone down the political agenda, despite prevalence significantly increasing. The General Election in 2010 provides an important opportunity for politicians to commit themselves to taking action on HIV in the UK.

Sustained Effort Needed to Develop Microbicides

Results of microbicide trial were announced today.

The results of the MDP301 trial of PRO2000 gel were announced today.  This gel was being developed as a possible microbicide to protect women from HIV infection during sex.  The results revealed that PRO2000 was safe but did not provide protection against HIV.

On Human Rights Day NAT Condemns Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Bill

The British Government must put pressure on the Government of Uganda directly

NAT is deeply concerned about the Anti-Homosexuality Bill introduced by the Ugandan Parliament in October 2009. The Bill calls for life sentences for practising homosexuals and the death penalty for homosexuals with HIV infection.
